Our Services
How does it work?
When you touch the touch screen you will have 2 buttons to choose from. "RENT" or "Return". When you click "RENT" it will display the rental contract and ask you to agree to it. Then you simply select a pad that you would like to rent. Once you choose either a small or large pad it will ask you how many days you'd like to rent it for. After that tap or insert your credit card or pay using your phone. Once you've paid a locker will open. Remove the pad, close the door and you are ready to boulder!
Rentals
When you are ready to return your pad(s) all you have to do is touch the "RETURN" button and then tap or insert the same card you used to rent with. If you rented more than one pad it will ask which pad you'd like to return. If you just rented one it will automatically open a door for you as soon as you use your card. Insert the pad in the locker, make sure all straps are tucked in, and then shut the door. You are all done! If you returned the pad late, no big deal. It will charge you when you return, just make sure you don't keep the pad more than 4 days total.

What is the cost?
The small pads are $18 and the big pads are $25 per 24 hours
Can I reserve a pad?
Unfortunately it is all first come first serve, however, we have 12 pads available and it is very rare that we are ever out of pads. Feel free to text me at 760-401-5633 if you are curious about availability or if you have ANY questions.
I rented and I want to keep it for longer than I originally selected. What do I do?
That is no problem at all! Just return whenever you are ready. If keep it longer than you selected it will charge you for the extra day(s) when you return. Just make sure you DO NOT keep the pad more than 4 days total (96 hours) or else you will be charged for the entire pad.
What if I want to rent for more than the 4 days that you allow?
If you want the pad for more than 4 days, simply return it before the 4 days(96 hours) is up and rerent. this will restart the 4 day limit.
I returned my pad on time and now I see a $60 charge on my credit card.
This is not a real charge and will not post to your account. when you return it runs a $60 phantom charge just to make sure that you are using the same card. That charge will disappear in minutes to days(depending on your bank). this is like when you pay for gas and it preauthorizes your card and then posts the actual charge after you pump. Most banks know it's a preauthorization and you will never even see it.
The Contract says that I can rent for up to 4 days, but i only see the option to rent for 3. Why is this?
This is to hopefully prevent customers from accidentally returning the pad past 4 days, which would result in the system charging you for the pad. You can keep it for the 4th day and it will charge you when you return.
Is this service owned or operated by Nomad Ventures?
The Rental Kiosk is in the parking lot of Nomad Ventures, but it is not directly affiliated. The Rental Company is High Gravity Rentals. Nomad employees can answer some basic question, but have no control or access to the machine. If you have any issues or any specific questions the best thing to do is reach out to me directly (Tyler Gilson 760-401-5633). I do also happen to work at Nomads, so if I am there I can help you directly.
I am trying to return a pad and my card is not working. What do I do?
The first step is ensuring that you are using the same card that you rented with. If it is still not working, 99% of the time it is your bank flagging the transaction because you are away from home. Watch the credit card reader screen. If it says "declined by issuer" then it is your bank. If you receive text alerts simply reply to their text and approve the transaction, wait a few minutes and try again. Otherwise you may need to call the number on your card. If nothing works, give me a call. my number is on the machine (760-401-5633) and I will help you out.

My name is Tyler Gilson and I am the founder of High Gravity Rentals. I designed the machines and everything you see with the business from scratch. I saw the problems with traditional rental services and I wanted to create a way to not only automate the entire process, but eliminate all of those problems.
